Treat Yourself or Give the Gift of Massage
Is there someone or multiple people on your Christmas list for whom it’s impossible to find the perfect gift? Every year, it seems to be the same dilemma: what do you get the person who has everything? Or what do you get the person who just doesn’t need any more stuff? We’d like to make that task a bit simpler for you this holiday season. Give the gift of massage. Give a moment of relaxation that the recipient will appreciate and enjoy greatly. Massage therapy has countless benefits including pain-relief, stress-relief, relaxation, improved sleep, improved mood. We can’t think of another gift that can do all that!
We’ve made it easy this year to give a massage gift certificate to your loved ones. There are two ways you can purchase one: online on our website, or by visiting one of our two locations in the Byward Market or in the Glebe. Massage gift certificates can be redeemed at either of our locations and appointments can be easily booked online.
Now, what about you? We all tend to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Parties, family dinners, cooking, baking, shopping! The list goes on. Not to mention shoveling, putting up the Christmas tree and hanging lights. These things are all important this time of year, but they are even more enjoyable when we can all show up feeling refreshed and ready. Treat yourself to a relaxing and therapeutic massage over the next few weeks. This will help take that stress away, rejuvenate your body and mind. You will truly be able to enjoy time with friends and family.
In our spa-like clinical setting, each massage is tailored to its recipient. Whether you prefer a relaxing massage, or one that goes in depth on a particular muscle, knot, joint or area of scar tissue, you will find a professional, registered massage therapist (RMT) to meet your needs. Every exceptional massage begins with an opportunity to discuss your health history and preferences with your therapist. Once done, the therapist will leave the room so that you can get ready for the massage. You will be instructed to remove clothing to your comfort level and to lay on your back or your stomach, under a blanket with pillows for support as needed. Each of our hydraulic massage tables is gently heated to help you relax along with music playing softly in the background. During the massage, you can instruct the therapist on the amount of pressure used so that it remains a comfortable experience for you throughout your massage.
After your massage and once you’re dressed, your RMT will return to the room and will talk to you about their recommendations for your care. Dedicated to health and wellness, our massage therapists are committed to providing every client with the highest quality holistic care and personalized experience.
Some of the many benefits of massage therapy include:
- Alleviate musculoskeletal pains and tension.
- Improve and restore range of motion.
- Improve the function of the immune system by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system.
- Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles, often caused by poor posture.
- Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
- Reduce muscle spasms and cramping.
- Help athletes of any level prepare for and recover from, strenuous workouts.
- Increase joint flexibility and mobility.
- Reduce scar tissue.
- Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
- Reduce post-surgical adhesions and swelling.
We have 6 Registered Massage Therapists on-staff at our Byward Massage Therapy Centre and 7 RMTs at our Glebe Massage Therapy Centre. They will assist you in restoring, maintaining and enhancing your well-being this holiday season, as well as year-round.
Our clinic will be open during the holidays except for December 23rd, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Massage and chiropractic appointments will be available at our Byward location on December 23rd.
As the year comes to an end, this means there are only so many days left for you to use your health insurance benefits. They will expire on December 31st, 2017. If you haven’t done so already, now would be a good time to review your employment insurance benefits so that you can use what you are entitled to in terms of massage, chiropractic care, and orthotics coverage.
We wish you a healthy and stress-free holiday season! And remember, we are here to make gift giving and relaxation easier for you!
